Breaking Bad - What could have happened

Do you remember when J. J. Abrams said that in the original script Jack was going to die at the end of the first episode? After watching the whole show, the idea seems quite stupid, but... what if they had done it? How would the series had been? The same question comes to my mind when I hear that Jesse Pinkman himself was going to have the same destiny as our man of science, since he was going to die at the end of season 1. Whaaaaat?! Yeap. We'll talk about this "what if" questions, so keep reading, since Vince Gilligan has decided to talk with Entertainment Weekly.

The series was going to be filmed in California, which is quite surprising since New Mexico has been quite useful (and cheap) to AMC. Those scenes of Heisenberg with the desert behind wouldn't have been the same, let's be honest. Also, Tuco's story was going to be longer, but a contract with The Closer made him "disappear" before expected.

We also have some stories that they wanted to include in the script, but at the end they were all rejected.

In one of them, Marie was going to shoot the delivering guy by mistake. As expected, it was rejected, since Hank would have interfered for her and probably covered it, so he would have a moral more similar to Walt's.

In other of the possible stories, Walt Jr arrives from school with a black eye. Believing he's suffering from bullying, Walt decides to put pot in the locket of the bully, only to discover that it was Walt Jr the one bullying and the other kid was only defending himself. The reason of why it was rejected was that they wanted Walt Jr to remain pure, since it has been so useful in the last episodes dramatically.

Hank and Walt were going to go to a shooting ranch together. The idea was that Walt would have to pretend in front of the one who's looking after him that he has no idea of how to shoot.

In other of the stories, Walt was going to go to South America to talk with a drug dealer who lives in a prison like a king. The objective of the visit was to make a deal with him to kill Gus Fring. It reminds me a little bit of Prison Break. It was rejected basically because they liked more the one we saw on screen, and truth be told, so did I and Gus Two Faces.

The series was going to have a few flashbacks that went back in time 100 years. In them they would tell us the story of a cowboy in New Mexico, and the story would have some similitudes with Walt's story, and they both will join at the end somehow. It was rejected because it would have took to much time from the main story.

The next one is more a image than anything else: Walt is in a boat and he drops a box with blood. The problem was that they didn't know exactly what was going to be inside the box and how would they reach that point. The bet was that it was going to be Gus' head as a prove that he had killed him.

Gus Fring would have been presented as a different way. He would have an argue with one of his employers, and with a chisel in the hand he would ask him to chose a number from 1 to 23, and that would be the number of the vertebrae he was going to break him to paralyze him.  Quite hard, maybe that was why it was rejected and the scene was changed to the one Gus cuts a guy's throat with a cutter.

And finally, a story that would end with a couple of deads. Badger and Skinny Pete, in a time of low producing of Walt, decide to make a "shake and bake", which is basically to put all the ingredients in a two litter bottle and put it in the back of a bike. The objective was that with the movements of the bike the reaction would began, but of course it is dangerous. Actually, the story ends with a explosion that leaves them both quite injured. And why didn't they do it? Well, because it's Badger and Skinny Pete the ones we are talking about!

What do you think of the stories? Would you have liked to see some of them or are you happy with what we've seen? I sincerely think that the show it's perfect as it is!
